The 1894 Half Ponde is rare in UNC grade and below is an exceptial MS61. The mintage is 39187 which is the second lowest after the 1892 and 1893 half Ponds.
1894 half Pond Forgeries.
There are a few forgeries in the 1894 half pond. The nose on the forgery bulges at the end rather than being flat. Also the forgery did not include the traiangle on the Lapel of President Krugers jacket.
The weight of the forgery is over 4.1 gm and the diameter is slightly over tolerance.
Some coins are ex-mount coins. Look for marks in the middle of the half Pond as many Half Pond were made into cufflinks. It is best to buy a certified coin.
