The Proof Double Shaft as this Pond is commonly known has two shafts on the wagon. The Voortrekker wagon had only a single shaft (disselboom) so two oxen either side of the shaft could be used. Also this Proof pond had O.S. on the Shoulder of President Kruger which were the initials of Otto Schultz.

The picture below is not a Proof Pond Double Shaft but a MS63.

The difference between a Proof and a UNC coin.

The sharper lettering, sharper rim.

The stars of the Proof coin are perfect.

The ribs on the wagon are more pronounced.

1892 Proof Double Shaft Pond Forgeries.

There does not seem to be a problem with forgeries due to the high quality of the coin.
